Choosing a padel court manufacturer

Most padel courts sold in the US are made in Europe or Asia; a US builder guide counts only two domestic manufacturers. Buying from a manufacturer gets you the court system (steel, glass, mesh, usually turf), typically $20,000 to $30,000 for a standard court and $24,000 to $50,000 for a panoramic one. The foundation, permits and often the installation are separate, so the real comparison is the whole delivered and installed price.

When to go to a manufacturer, and when to a builder

  • You run a club or developer project and want to choose the court model yourself.
  • You already have a contractor who can pour the base and handle permits.
  • You are buying several courts and want to compare factory prices.
  • A builder is better if you want one firm responsible for the base, permits, court and lights.
  • A builder is better if you have never imported freight or dealt with customs.
  • Either way, ask who installs the court and who fixes it later.

What a good quote includes

Ask for these six points in writing. Two quotes that cover them can be compared line by line.

  1. Exactly what ships

Glass, steel, mesh, turf, net, lights and padding listed one by one. Some kits are glass and steel only.

  2. Glass and steel

Glass thickness and type (tempered, usually 10 or 12 mm), and how the steel is protected against rust: galvanized, primed, powder coated.

  3. Wind and engineering

The wind speed the court is engineered for, and drawings your engineer and building department can use.

  4. Lead time and freight

Weeks from order to your site, who handles customs, and who delivers the last mile.

  5. Who installs

The maker's own crew, a certified installer or your contractor, and whether travel is extra.

  6. Warranty and spares

Years of cover on glass, steel and turf, and how fast a broken panel can be replaced in the US.

How buying direct from a manufacturer usually works

  1. Specify

You choose the court type, glass, turf and lights, and send the site plan and wind speed for your location.

  2. Order

The maker confirms drawings and lead time. A deposit is usually paid before production or shipping.

  3. Ship

US stock can arrive in one to two weeks; imports usually take four to eight weeks with ocean freight and customs.

  4. Install

Your foundation must be ready first. Then the maker's crew or an installer puts the court up in a few days.

Questions people ask

Where are padel courts made?

Mostly in Europe, especially Spain, and in Asia. US Padel Court Builders counts two domestic US manufacturers and more than a dozen international ones selling here.

How long does a padel court take to arrive?

A US builder guide puts it at about one to two weeks for courts in stock in the US, and four to eight weeks for imported courts once freight and customs are included.

Is it cheaper to buy a padel court direct?

The kit can be. But a manufacturer usually does not pour the base, file permits or deliver the last mile, and import tariffs can add $5,000 to $15,000 or more. Compare the full installed price, not the kit price.

What glass do padel courts use?

Tempered safety glass, commonly 10 or 12 mm thick, in panels of about 2 m by 3 m. Panoramic courts use more and larger glass with fewer metal posts. Ask for the glass standard and thickness in writing.

Should the court meet FIP rules?

If you want official dimensions or might host events, yes. The FIP Rules of Padel set the size, wall heights, net and surface. Ask the maker to confirm the court is built to them.
