Questions people ask
What size is a padel court in feet?
The playing area is 20 m by 10 m, which is about 65 ft 7 in long and 32 ft 10 in wide, or about 2,153 square feet.
How high are the walls of a padel court?
Under the FIP rules, the back walls are 4 m (13 ft 1 in) high: 3 m of glass or solid wall with 1 m of mesh above. The side walls step down from 3 m near the back to a mesh fence 3 m high in the middle, rising to 4 m at the ends.
How much ceiling height does an indoor padel court need?
FIP sets a minimum of 6 m (19 ft 8 in) clear across the whole court and suggests 8 m (26 ft 3 in) for new facilities. Some US builders recommend at least 24 ft, with about 36 ft for the best play, because low ceilings stop players lobbing.
How many padel courts fit on a tennis court?
A standard US tennis court with run-off is 120 ft by 60 ft, per the ITF. One padel court enclosure is about 68 ft by 35 ft 5 in, so only one fits inside that fence line. Widen the slab by about 8 ft and three courts fit side by side across it, using about 111 ft of the 120 ft length.
What is the distance from the net to the service line?
The service lines are 6.95 m (22 ft 10 in) from the net, leaving 3.05 m (about 10 ft) between the service line and the back wall. A center line divides the service area and runs at least 20 cm (8 in) past the service line.
Is a padel court the same size as a pickleball court?
No. A pickleball court is 44 ft by 20 ft, per pickleball.com, so a padel court has more than twice the playing area. Read our padel vs pickleball court guide.
